On Monday, June 17, HR professionals from the healthcare sector came together for an educational afternoon sharing experiences and ideas about mental resilience in the workplace. This meeting was organized by The Mental Move in cooperation with Beweging 3.0.
Reception and introduction
From 2:30 in the afternoon, the first participants poured into the “Amelisweerd” room at restaurant Vroeg in Bunnik, a beautiful country-style venue. While enjoying coffee and freshly baked treats, attendees got to know each other. The program began at three, with Ruth de Heer, founder of The Mental Move and GZ psychologist, elaborating on the importance of mental resilience and the need for amplification and prevention to prevent absenteeism.
College Tour with Anoeska Uyleman-Niesing
During the second part of the afternoon, the College Tour took place with Anoeska Uyleman-Niesing, team manager employability at Beweging 3.0. She shared her experiences in promoting mental resilience in the workplace and setting up a successful prevention program.
Her ability to zoom out and include broader social developments and changing zeitgeist was particularly inspiring. She spoke about the importance of collective alignment and creating a shared vision within the organization. Anoeska emphasized the importance of aligning all outgoing messages and promoting equal collaboration. The participants were engaged and asked many questions, creating a lively discussion.
One participant noted: “I get a lot of inspiration from the experiences of Beweging 3.0, such as what steps were taken and how the lines were drawn.” Anoeska’s strategic approach and her ability to see the big picture and translate it into concrete actions were a valuable addition to the afternoon.
“Mapping your organization”
In the latter part of the afternoon, participants brainstormed on various topics. Posters with different topics hung throughout the room and participants were free to walk around exchanging ideas. Some of the insights shared when asked “what best practices for sustainable employability would you like to share with others?” were:
- Set up your own provider arc and bring them together, such as by connecting them at a meeting.
- Get to know the core team of your own health and safety service well.
- Ask for input from an occupational health and safety service that thinks across the board.
- Identify other factors and causes of absenteeism, such as using the ICF model.
- Make sure everyone works, thinks and acts from the same methodology.
- Have an open conversation with the board about desired changes.
Closing and drinks
During the brainstorming session, there was plenty of further exchange while enjoying snacks and drinks. At the end of the day, the participants went home full of inspiration and motivation. They indicated that it was valuable to discuss these themes with other HR professionals. They found the recognition in each other’s stories and the opportunity to learn from each other particularly useful and insightful. In short, it was a successful afternoon!
